You can always assume the map/flag overlay minimods are compatible with the latest HPM version. Unless the text besides compatibility says a specific version. Then they will be compatible only with that version. Square Frame mods are compatible with map mods, so you can use both together. None of these should change your checksum, except for the Country Colors minimod and AFP.

'Fixed' versions are updates I made to, well, fix stuff. I'm not the creator of these mods, nor a regular maintainer, so don't expect updates for these. I do aim to keep them compatible with current versions, but no promises.

Big Square Frame

Big Square Frames is a mod with a simple objective: make the round frames from Victoria 2 big and square. Almost all of them end up square - just the ones in the 'Show Great Powers' diplomatic tab that are still round.

Square Shaded Flag Frames is pretty similar to the mod above, with a cleaner shading which perhaps lets you see the flag in better detail (and a few positioning fixes and fixes to the production tab flags). I also fixed glitches that the mod inherited from Big Square Frames, such as province view overlap and other graphical artefacts.

Cool Map Mod

Map mods usually replace the overlay of the map, removing that 'folded paper' style for something else. Cool Map mod is one of the oldest ones, not that age changes anything about it. It also changes some fonts, by the way.

Mish Mash Map Mod

Another map mod, this time with several options for overlays and intensities. The download has 6 options for you to pick from - the gallery includes the examples images that come with the compressed files. Keep in mind that you need to move the .mod file and folder from the option you like to your Victoria 2/mod folder.It also changes some fonts, by the way.

RDS Map Mod

Originally made by RenatoDS, this version is an adaptation for HPM since Jan Mayen doesn't exist anymore (as well as due to several other changes). Balance is different, but you can't build railroads on deserts anymore. This version shouldn't have any ghost lakes. The assorted map changes makes the map like the picture in this article, and it should work even without RDS.

Country Colors Minimod

The country colors minimod changes the colors of several countries and makes several countries change colors as they change government. You can always delete the countries you don't like to get their colors back to vanilla HPM.

This mod will change your checksum.

Improved Names HPM

A HPM minimod that improves the government names of countries (giving different names for specific government types). Holy games download free.

Do not download this mod using the pastebin link, it's outdated.

Alternative Flag Pack (AFP)

Most of the flags in the AFP are already in HPM, with the exception of a few. Still, it's a tremendous work of love and, if you want to check them all out, it doesn't hurt to go to his pastebin.
